About this Blog!

Over the years I have come to see just how lazy I have been in regard to the Word of God. If I believe that this is a book God wrote, which I do, shouldn’t I be craving each day to hear what God has to say? Shouldn’t I do all that is within my power to listen to God?

I find it absolutely amazing that we have a book in which we can read words that came from the mouth of God. If we want to know what God is like, we need look no further than this book he wrote. I just can’t get over it! God wrote a book! Amazing!

I have been desperate lately to get to know God better and to really be a better friend to him. So I decided to read the Bible as I would read a gripping novel. My goal is to get to the heart of the story God is telling and engage more fully in the unfolding redemptive drama of the story myself.

I begin with a prayer, “Father God, please reveal yourself to me as I read. May the Holy Spirit, the author of the Holy Scriptures, teach me and lead me into all truth. Grow me in my faith and my love for you God. May this time spent in your word with you be precious. Give me an obedient and humble heart to obey that which you reveal to me along the way. God bless the Journey!”

THE PLAN:

Starting on October 12, 2011 I will read a book of the bible a day and blog about my experience. During this time I will also take a break from media, movies & television, to pursue God in his Word undistracted. I invite you to join me in this adventure of getting to know God. Let’s pursue God together! Also, please respond to the blogs with your thoughts, I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Ok, so while I did complete it in 66 days, When I hit the Psalms, it was no longer a book a day, and I didn’t blog about every book either. My whole approach shifted when I was soon challenged to tackle some serious issues in my relationship with God.
